Browns Star Sets the Tone for Unruly Shedeur Sanders Fans for 2026

Browns fans have given their verdict on Shedeur Sanders. While the rookie’s performance has split the critics and NFL experts, he has earned a lot of vocal fans.

They booed former head coach Kevin Stefanski and even booed Dillon Gabriel when Sanders went off the field after a pinky injury against the Bills. However, a Browns player has welcomed their passionate support of Shedeur Sanders.

In a Monday media session, Browns Safety Grant Delpit stated that he has no issues with Sanders’s “crazy fans.” Talking about the impact his popularity has had on the team, he asked Sanders to continue with his plays.

“I think Shedeur got like crazy fan base, he got this stardom and all that. He’s poppin’ right now. I just keep tellin’ him, ‘Keep poppin' it man. keep doing what you doin. We gotchu on defence, so get that ball back.'” said Delpit.

However, Delpit isn't the only one who has noticed Sedheur Sanders' popularity. In an episode of the Orange and Brown Talk podcast in 2025, Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot spoke about Shedeur Sanders' fan following.

“Shedeur brings with him something big and powerful that would be difficult to deal with if you were trying to throw all of your support behind a No. 1 pick,” she stated.

Will that be enough for Shedeur Sanders to hold on as QB1?

While Shedeur Sanders has shown flashes of brilliance, especially during his 364-yard, four-touchdown (total) game against the Titans, his spot as the starting QB is not guaranteed.

In the 2026 season, Deshaun Watson is projected to return. Traded to the Browns for $200 million on a five-year contract, the only reason Watson didn't start games this season was because of his injury.

Then there are concerns about the head coach. While many felt that Kevin Stefanski didn't utilize Sanders to the best of his ability, there's no telling how a new coach will handle the roster for the 2026-27 season.

The Cleveland Browns seem to be chasing John Harbaugh, with Jim Schwartz and Tommy Rees in the mix. Yet, no matter who takes the helm, we'll have to wait and see if Shedeur Sanders remains the preferred starter.
