Browns Reporter Expresses Disappointment in Shedeur Sanders After Steelers Cameo
The Cleveland Browns suffered a humiliating 27-6 defeat against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Shedeur Sanders couldn't make the most of his opportunity. With Deshaun Watson temporarily leaving for a concussion evaluation, head coach Todd Monken turned to the rookie quarterback.
However, Sanders struggled to make an impression during his brief appearance. He completed both his passes but managed just two passing yards across four plays, failing to provide the spark Cleveland needed.
His performance attracted criticism from ESPN Cleveland reporter Tony Grossi. Speaking on the station, Grossi questioned whether Sanders had demonstrated the preparation and decision-making expected of someone competing for the backup quarterback position.
"He didn't look prepared... when we talk about who has the better skills to be a backup QB, you gotta be ready to step in there and not just throw the ball out of bounds."
Grossi's assessment raises further questions about Sanders' future in Cleveland. With several quarterbacks competing for limited roster opportunities, the rookie hasn't done much to strengthen his position.
Shedeur Sanders Trade Rumors Continue as Browns Consider Their Options
It increasingly feels like only a matter of time before Cleveland considers moving on from Sanders. The Browns already have Deshaun Watson, Dillon Gabriel, and Taylen Green competing for quarterback opportunities.
With the November 10 trade deadline approaching, several potential destinations have emerged. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, and Miami Dolphins have all been mentioned as possible landing spots.
However, there is no confirmation that Cleveland has received a concrete offer. Sanders' limited Steelers appearance could also complicate his trade value.
For now, his future remains uncertain as the Browns evaluate their quarterback situation.
