Browns Reportedly Linked with Top WR to Unlock Shedeur Sanders' Full Potential

Shedeur Sanders may have another option to throw the ball this upcoming season. ESPN's Field Yates believes the Chiefs have a young wide receiver in mind who would be a perfect fit.

On Friday, Yates posted on X (formerly Twitter), reporting that Denzel Boston could be that name. The wide receiver out of Washington is scheduled to have a top-30 meet with the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns could desperately use Boston’s services, as there is still a need for a wide receiver on the roster.

The Washington native played four years of college football and enjoyed the 2024 and 2025 seasons particularly. In both those seasons, the WR surpassed 800 receiving yards.

Throughout his college career, Boston has caught the ball 132 times for a total yardage of 1,781 yards and has recorded 20 touchdowns to his name.

NFL's Lance Zierlein thinks the Browns would be getting a player similar to Puka Nacua, based on his draft and combine profile. He shared a quote from an NFC scouting director who praised Boston for his talents

“I don’t think speed concerns are valid. Anyway, you don’t have to be fast when you are as good as he is when guarded.”

2025 was a largely forgettable season for the Browns. They only averaged 82–89.5 yards per game, and, according to Browns beat reporter Ashley Bastock, their offense was "very predictable, very one dimensional."

The Browns own the number six overall pick, and the number 24 overall pick (from the Jaguars), and the 6’4, 209-pound wide receiver is projected to be a late first-rounder, and the Browns could snag him with that 24th pick.

As for Todd Monken and the Cleveland Browns, that offensive line is getting all the attention it needs, but the next position up should be WR, and the draft could be where they add to that WR room.

Who are the Other Wide Receivers the Browns Met With?

Some of the names that have already had a sit-down with Todd Monken and Andrew Barry are Ohio State’s Carnell Tate, Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson, Indiana’s Omar Cooper Jr., and Louisville’s Chris Bell.

Ohio State’s Carnell Tate is one of the top receivers in the class of 2026 and is expected to be a top-15 pick. Through his four years at college, Tate has caught the ball 121 times for 1,872 yards and 14 TDs. The Browns may need to use that 6th overall pick if they would like his services.

Another name on the list is Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson. The Texas native had an enormous 2024 season with more than 1,000 receiving yards and ten touchdowns. Tyson is projected to be a mid-to-late first-round pick.

The list ends with Omar Cooper Jr. and Chris Bell. Cooper could go late in the first round or early in the second round of the NFL Draft, and Bell is projected to be a second-round (mid-40s) pick.
