Browns Radio Show Host Rips Into Shedeur Sanders & Deshaun Watson With Scathing Statement

Fans still don't know if Shedeur Sanders or Deshaun Watson will take the QB1 spot. And Browns radio show host Nick Wilson doesn't see either of them helping guide the team to a winning season.

In Friday’s episode of 92.3 The Fan, Wilson ripped into quarterbacks Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson with some harsh comments.

“Name me a worse QB room than those 2 QBs right now…” he asked fellow host Jonathan Peterlin. However, Peterlin didn't completely agree with the statement.

“If the plan is you're playing for the 2027 draft. And if not... Shedeur comes in and is great, that's an alright spot for the Browns,” explained Peterlin.

Wilson wasn't convinced. In another segment, he even questioned the path the Browns seem to be taking. "It's a QB room to nowhere, and they know it," said the host.

"To anyone who says Shedeur vs Deshaun is a salient plan, all I hear is you want to tank... but, here's the problem: every other spot on this roster, they're not tanking," he said about letting the two players compete for the QB1 spot.

Monken himself hasn't announced who he plans to pick as the starting QB, as Deshaun Watson prepares to return to the field.

“I think that anytime that you have a player that at one time has exhibited the skillset at an elite level, you’re always going to give them the benefit of the doubt that somehow we’re going to be able to get that out of him,” Monken said about Watson at the NFL Combine.

The Browns also have other aspects to worry about

While Cleveland finished the 2025 season with a dismal 5-13 record, their defensive line was among the best in the league.

The DL shone under now-former defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz. In fact, Miles Garrett even broke the NFL record for maximum sacks in a season.

However, since Schwartz resigned after being passed over for the head coach position, the Browns have a new defensive coordinator, Mike Rutenberg.

So Wilson asked, "Who’s to say they didn’t take a minor step back at some point on the defensive side?”

“You lose Devin Bush, Miles Garrett is older, a lot of pieces in the defensive line are getting older. And you have a brand new defensive coordinator,” added the doubtful host.

Yet, what's your take on the Browns QB situation? Tell us in the comments.
