Browns Predicted to Cut Ties With WR Who has 5 Career TD
As the NFL Offseason progresses, teams will be looking to finalize their 53-man roster. WR Cedric Tillman faces a roster battle in Cleveland. Analysts predict the Browns will cut the third-year wide receiver to clear cap space and make room for younger talent.
The wide receiver with just five career touchdowns is being heavily predicted to be the one getting cut this offseason.
Bleacher Report expert Moe Moton stated, "Entering a contract year, Cedric Tillman hasn't produced enough to surpass [Jerry] Jeudy on the depth chart or show that he has the upside comparable to Bond and two top-40 draft picks [Concepcion & Boston]."

Across three seasons, the former third-round pick has only made 71 receptions for 833 yards. Plus, he's entering the final year of his $5.6 million rookie contract, meaning Cleveland saves around $3.7 million by letting him go, according to Heavy.com.
Right now, the Browns seem more focused on developing their younger talent. Moton pointed to Isaiah Bond as a versatile receiver who can line up both inside and outside, while also highlighting his explosiveness after averaging 18.8 yards per catch last season.
On top of that, Tillman has also been injured in later seasons. Looking at the finances, the Browns' number 19 just costs more while delivering less. On the other hand, keeping Bond makes total sense. He is locked into an affordable three-year, $3 million deal.
Cedric Tillman Cut Chances Over Other WRs
General Manager Andrew Berry heavily invested in the WR position, drafting KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston in the first two rounds. Those rookies are absolute locks to make the final 53-man roster, instantly taking up two valuable spots, as per Heavy.com.
And then there is Jerry Jeudy. While he had 602 yards receiving last year, releasing him does not seem like an effective idea since his contract is worth $52.5 million. This makes it difficult to release him without a cap hit.
The final receiver positions will eventually be decided based on some players who would bring extra value on special teams. Last year, Malachi Corley and Gage Larvadain were the return specialists, which means on the starting lineup.
The final receiver spots could ultimately come down to players who provide added value on special teams. Guys like Malachi Corley and Gage Larvadain handled return duties last year, which gives them another path onto the roster.
That leaves Cedric Tillman in a difficult spot, as he currently looks more like a depth receiver than a regular starter in the rotation.
