Browns Poach Bills Talent in Hopes of Protecting Shedeur Sanders

The Cleveland Browns have made a move to protect Shedeur Sanders in their final two games.

The team signed offensive lineman Kendrick Green from the Buffalo Bills' practice squad. This comes after Sanders has been sacked seven times this season.

"The Cleveland Browns have signed OL Kendrick Green to the active roster off Buffalo's practice squad," the team reported on its website on December 24th.

Center Ethan Pocic is out for the season with a torn Achilles. Right Tackle Jack Conklin is on IR after a concussion against the San Francisco 49ers in an 8-26 defeat. The Browns have serious problems with the OL.

And even offensive coordinator Tommy Rees admitted it. "It starts with our ability to protect. Our ability to protect the passer is going to be critical. And that’s the quarterback, that’s the tight ends, that’s the receivers getting open, that’s the backs in protection and obviously the O-line."

Green could provide an immediate solution. He played 4 seasons for the Texans, Bills, and Steelers. In 2024, Green logged 178 offensive snaps. Despite missing time with injuries in past seasons, Green’s experience and run-blocking ability could help stabilize the Browns’ offensive line.

And it's high time the Browns focus on protecting Sanders

In the Bears game, he was sacked 5 times. Then, in the Bills game, the opponents sacked him twice, and Terrell Owens had had enough. He hammered the team mid-game.

"Watching this @Browns @BuffaloBills game and I swear #68 must have a parlay on this game or something 😂, this guy can’t block the sun. Entire OL is trash, though. Frfr Shedeur can shoot a @Tide commercial after this game as much as he’s been on his back."

What do you think of the OL, and how fruitful will Kendrick Green be with this team? Let us know in the comments.
