Browns Owner Jimmy Haslam Rips Into Management as Big Changes Coming to Cleveland
Franchise owner Jimmy Haslam has apologized to the Browns fans for letting them down for two seasons straight. After he fired former head coach Kevin Stefanski for winning only eight games in two years, Haslam held himself accountable and promised better days ahead.
“Ownership takes full responsibility for where we are. To win 8 games in two years is horrible. It's totally unacceptable. It's not gonna continue,” he stated.
In a media session on Monday, Haslam confessed that the ownership, he and Dee Haslam were as upset as the fans were. He said their fans’ feedback and opinion are valuable to them are working towards fulfilling their expectations.
“I want the fans to know that we are as frustrated as you are. And we hear a lot from our fans, which we actually appreciate. We have great fans who are extremely passionate, and they deserve better than what they’ve gotten.”
In Week 15, when the Browns were playing against the Buffalo Bills, Browns fans in the stadium booed Stefanski for how the 5-12 season panned out.
What Else Needs His Attention?
The Haslams expressed that a new figure in the coaching position is imperative to build and steer a winning team.
“Our results over the last two seasons have not been satisfactory, and we believe a change at the head coaching position is necessary. The entirety of our focus is on building a team that brings our fans the success they long deserve, and we will continue to work relentlessly,” they stated in a press release.
While Stefanski has left the team, general manager Andrew Berry, who joined with him six years ago, will stay. He will continue making calls on operations and remain involved with the ownership. As the 2025 regular season has concluded, the Browns have started picking out any weak links.
The new challenge would be picking the desired head coach who will not disappoint the fans and work with the players and new draft picks. With Myles Garrett’s name floating in trade conversations, an undecided starting quarterback position, and a pathetic offensive line, Jim Haslam is answerable to more such questions.
