The Cleveland Browns have garnered quite a lot of buzz with their recent offseason moves. It is also why they have found themselves on the CBS Sports list of the top 10 offseason teams.

During a recent episode of CBS Sports' Off the Leash podcast aired on Tuesday (June 23), senior sports anchor Mark Schwab discussed CBS Sports writer Josh Edwards' ranking of the 2026 offseason for NFL teams.

"CBS Sports, one of the writers, Josh Edwards, put together the teams that had the ten best offseasons. Ranked them one to ten, the Cleveland Browns were ranked as having the number 1 best offseason in the entire NFL of all the teams," said Schwab.

Edwards' list, as discussed on the podcast, might come across as surprising to many, as the Browns lost multiple top players in the offseason. 2026 saw Myles Garrett, Joel Bitonio, and Wyatt Teller all leaving the franchise.

However, according to Edwards, this is where Browns General Manager Andrew Barry came through. He made a masterstroke, trading away Garrett and bringing in defensive end Jared Verse, whose career saw him record over 120 tackles and 7.5 sacks.

He also brought in guard Zion Johnson and center Elgton Jenkins. Add offensive tackle Spencer Fano and Austin Barber into the mix, and you've got a team ready for 2026.

But Fred Greetham of The Orange and Brown Report wasn't too convinced by Edwards' ranking. Putting a big question mark over the matter, Greetham said he isn't fully convinced that they are the best offseason team in the NFL.

Speaking of Orange and Brown Talk, the Browns' quarterback situation has been in conversation again. Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot divulged the latest on the QB1 situation.

Mary Kay Cabot gave another update on the quarterback situation at Cleveland, speaking on the Orange and Brown Talk podcast on Wednesday, June 24.

“…In this case, I just don’t really think there’s too much to it at this point," Cabot said. "They’ve already said exactly what they’re doing. They’re heading into training camp with a two-way battle between these two players, Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders. I think that’s how it’s going to go.”

As per Cabot, the two-way battle is still on between the two quarterbacks. But Deshaun Watson, who is in the last year of his contract, may not have an edge over Shedeur Sanders anymore.

Browns color analyst, Nathan Zegura, however, pointed out on the Ross Tucker Football Podcast that Sanders had made great improvements over the last year. His game has improved in his ability to make reads and to release the ball early.

As it stands, it seems the quarterback drama will keep on playing for a little longer than expected. The preseason practice kicks off in July, and maybe we will have an answer then.
