Browns Journalist Surprised by TJ Ward's Surprising Behaviour Following Unexpected Crashout
Former Cleveland Browns safety T.J. Ward is coming under a lot of scrutiny. The Browns legend spoke about his experience with the Cleveland media, and he did not hold back.
“Dealing with the reporters and the media in Cleveland is misery. And every year, they’re looking for a fresh start, no matter who it is and where they at,” he said.
Known Browns journalist, Mary Kay Cabot, was shocked by this and talked about it on 92.3 The Fan.
"I ran across that, and I was like, what? It's just so funny because, uh, TJ Ward had a great relationship with the media here in Cleveland when he was here; he was treated very, very well. And, uh, and I for one had a really, really nice relationship with TJ Ward, a good working relationship."
Ward discussed Shedeur Sanders’ future on Underdog’s The Arena when he came across a quote from ESPN’s Daniel Oyefusi, one that did not see Sanders as a long-term QB.
That statement triggered his criticism of the Cleveland media.
“That’s just something to keep them papers turning over in Ohio, man. It’s a bunch of B.S," he added.
Worse for Ward, Cabot now plans to question him about his remarks. "I hope I run into him on radio row at the Super Bowl or somewhere because I would like to ask him to sort of explain exactly what he's talking about because, uh, you know, I was here for all of that. And that was not my experience at all with TJ Ward," she said.
The Browns selected T.J. Ward in the 2nd round (38th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft. In 54 games for them in his career, he recorded 248 solo tackles, 94 assists, 3.5 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, and 5 interceptions. He officially announced his retirement on April 21, 2021, and now appears on podcasts and football shows, offering NFL analysis
T.J. Ward did not like Kevin Stefanski
The former Browns safety did not like how Kevin Stefanski coached the Cleveland Browns. After the 31-3 thrashing by the Bears, Ward took to X and criticized the then-Browns head coach.
“Ben Johnson and his staff are light-years ahead of the Stefanski and crew. It’s embarrassing,” he said.
Johnson was not alone in that notion, as a lot of fans called for Stefanski's bad coaching as the Browns recorded another losing season. Jimmy Haslam, Browns owner, ultimately decided to fire him.
