The rumor mill of the relationship between Kevin Stefanski and Shedeur Sanders has been working overtime since the rookie did get the starting job when the season started.

Reporter Daryl Ruiter has another important development. He claims that Sanders is not the QB Stefanksi wants. Ruiter claimed that the HC first " talk yourself into building around Deshaun Watson," but injuries kept him off the field, and then added-

"But then, once you decide Kevin's your guy, then you have to decide, well, is Shedeur Sanders the type of quarterback that Kevin Stefanski wants to coach? I don't know the answer to that, but I'm leaning towards probably not, because he just doesn't seem to have whatever it is Kevin likes in his quarterback. I don't know that Shedeur Sanders is it. Deshaun Watson wasn't it, I don't believe."

Is everything good between Stefanski and Sanders? In the media, they have been good. But insiders' reports said that the rookie had to be stopped from going after the HC after the Titans game. Plus, there have been internet rumors of Stefanski wanting to sabotage Sanders' career.

But never in a press conference did the head coach say one negative thing about Shedeur Sanders. Moreover, Kevin Stefanski has not been able to reap great results for the Browns over the past 6 seasons.

Two playoffs were great, but the rest of the four seasons have seen a losing record only, and the last two have been a disaster.

In 2024, the season in which Watson went out after an Achilles injury, the team lost 14 games and won only 3. This year, they are on the same track again with a 3-12 record; they have 2 games left in the season. And Ruiter is not the only one raising this issue.

Stephen A Smith rained down on the Browns HC, saying, "My problem is, damn, Kevin Stefanski. Does any quarterback work for you? Any quarterback at all, right? At some point in time, ain’t it about you? Ain’t it about your offensive coordinator? Ain’t it about what y’all are bringing to the table?”

With the possibility of another shame of winning just 3 games in a season, Stefanski's job as the Browns' head coach is in danger. Winning the next two games against the Steelers and the Bengals might not change much either.

There have been multiple insider reports saying that the Owners will fire Stefanski after this season. One report also said that Stefanski might be even more welcoming of the decision to leave the team. But Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network have said everything is under evaluation.

“No decisions have been made on the future of Kevin Stefanski, the two-time NFL Coach of the Year. The Browns know Stefanski can coach, and he has maintained a consistent approach amid the adversity of a transition year with a young roster. But the hard reality is the Browns are 6-25 over the past two seasons, putting everything up for evaluation,” their report said.
