Browns Insider Drops Major Hint on Kevin Stefanski Replacement Ahead of NFL Week 18
Kevin Stefanski has one last chance this season to improve the Browns' record, but according to NFL insiders, that may not be enough to keep the team from looking at a replacement.
According to ESPN's Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler, Miami's current coach could be the next candidate for the job.
“I sense that McDaniel would be a candidate in Cleveland, should the Dolphins move on and Cleveland’s job open. He still has some support in Miami. We will see if that’s enough.”

McDaniel’s start for Miami this season was something similar to the Browns. The former Super Bowl winners won only one out of the first seven games. However, McDaniel forced a comeback, winning 4 back-to-back games.
This resilience is getting noticed in Cleveland. According to reporter Mary Kay Cabot, "The Browns have always admired his brilliant offensive mind, his innovative play-calling and his strategic thinking. He’s been on their radar for some time, and would likely jump at the chance to interview him if the Dolphins fire him and the Browns part ways with Stefanski."
McDaniel has already spent time with the Browns as the receivers coach back in 2014 under Kyle Shanahan. When Shanahan left, so did McDaniel.
But That Doesn't Mean It's All Bad News for Kevin Stefanski
If fired, Stefanski might not have to wait long for a new job. In the same podcast, Jeremy Fowler talked about how a trade between the Browns and the New York Giants could take place for him.
“And trades of any kind are never off the table in Cleveland, but it'd be tricky trying to trade a coach who's 7-26 over the past two years," he said.
The New York Giants have had a horrific season, sitting fourth in the NFC East with a 3-13 record. They removed the former head coach, Brian Daboll, and hired Mike Kafka to handle the rest of the season.
