Browns get candid assessment from WWE star over their quarterback situation

The Cleveland Browns have found reasons for optimism this season, but questions remain about their long-term quarterback plans. One prominent fan believes the team still needs to find its future leader.

Mike 'The Miz' Mizanin discussed Cleveland's quarterback situation on The Rich Eisen Show. The WWE Superstar admitted that he expected to see the same old Deshaun Watson this season but had been pleasantly surprised by the encouraging signs from the veteran:

“He's been good, and so the team has been good.”

Mizanin also credited rookie wide receivers Casey Concepcion and Denzel Boston for giving Watson valuable weapons. However, he remained uncertain about the team's future at the position, and even made a candid prediction about Shedeur Sanders:

“I don't think they're going to give Shedeur a chance. I really don't.”

The WWE star questioned whether the Browns would give Shedeur Sanders a genuine opportunity to establish himself as their quarterback of the future.

He believes Cleveland must eventually address the position through the draft, even as the current team gives fans reasons to enjoy the season.

The Miz changes his tune on Browns after initially hoping for a tanked season

The Miz initially wanted Cleveland to tank in 2026 and pursue a quarterback in the draft. The team's performances have since changed his outlook.

He praised the defense after its win over Pittsburgh and said the Browns still looked competitive in their loss to the Jets in Week 5. As he explained, the team now looks capable of winning, making the season more enjoyable despite the unresolved quarterback question.

The WWE star is now enjoying Cleveland's performances and hopes the Browns can maintain their encouraging form throughout the season.
