Browns Fans React as Recent ESPN Reports Suggest Potential Myles Garrett Trade

Apr 3, 2026, 6:27 AM CUT

A vague ESPN Cleveland report has Browns fans on edge. The post floated a potential trade for superstar Myles Garrett, based on an anonymous executive's tip. Fans immediately took to social media to react to the idea of losing their team's defensive cornerstone.

“An executive from another NFL team thinks the Browns are planning to trade Myles Garrett, per the Athletic. Do you think the Browns should consider moving the DPOY?” ESPN Cleveland posted on April 2.

Garrett has been the core of the Browns’ defence since his draft in 2017. In eight seasons, the 30-year-old has recorded 125.5 sacks, 412 tackles, and 23 forced fumbles. And Garrett is still savoring the successful undertakings from the 2025 season.

The defensive end set the new NFL record for most sacks by a player in a season with 23 sacks in 2025. He surpassed Michael Strahan, legendary player and Hall of Famer, and even got his #95 jersey and helmet inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Garrett admitted that while he is grateful to the Browns, competing in the Super Bowl is his “ultimate” goal. He even asked for a trade during last year's preseason because he believes the Browns won't reach the Super Bowl.

The management offered him a four-year contract extension worth $160 million, which they restructured in March (2026). When this move fueled trade rumors, general manager Andrew Berry called Garrett a “career Brown.”

“Myles is a career Brown,” he said during the annual NFL meeting. ”He is one of the faces of our organization. I think we've been very clear both past and present in terms of our goals.”

But despite his efforts, Garrett’s contract is “actually tradable” per experts, and the latest update does not help much. And frustrated fans have let their feelings be known.

Do Browns fans want Myles Garrett?

One fan questioned the Browns’ judgment, saying, "The Browns should probably just do the opposite of whatever they think."

"Depends what’s coming back," another commented, seemingly open to the trade. However, the majority were not open to a trade.

One angry fan replied that the Browns should haul out franchise owners instead of Myles Garrett. “Keep Myles trade Haslam and Berry 100%,” the reply read.

Others even questioned the authenticity of the news itself. “I think you should moving on from posting garbage like this. An executive from another team??!” commented one user. “Who’s the executive? Who’s your source?” asked another.

Myles Garrett just won the DPOY despite the Browns' disastrous 5-12 season. So what's your opinion on Garrett getting traded?
