Browns Fans React After Latest Odds Suggest 47% Chance of Drafting Another QB

Apr 8, 2026, 12:31 PM CUT

Even with three quarterbacks already on their roster, the Cleveland Browns might look to find their starter in the upcoming draft.

And while names like Ty Simpson have become popular among fans, a recent post has left more questions than it answers.

Especially regarding cross-checking facts.

On X, Dov Kleiman reported that, as per Polymarket, there was a 47 percent chance of the Browns picking a quarterback in the first round of the 2026 draft.

“𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: The Browns' odds to draft a QB in the first round of the draft have skyrocketed to 47% on Polymarket. Cleveland is rumored to be heavily interested in potentially drafting Ty Simpson or Carson Beck. Both would THRIVE under Jeff Hafley,” the X post read.

The post also named Ty Simpson of the Alabama Crimson Tide and Carson Beck of the Miami Hurricanes as the prospects who could thrive under Jeff Hafley.

Except that he is not the Browns' head coach. Todd Monken is, and Hafley is with the Miami Dolphins.

After ending their last two season with embarrassing records, 4-13 in 2024 and 5-12 in 2025, the Browns have roped in new HC Todd Monken, the former Baltimore Ravens offense coordinator, in hopes that he would rebuild the offense.

24-year-old Shedeur Sanders scored seven touchdowns for 1,400 passing yards against 10 interceptions. Although he was the standout quarterback last season, his performance is not reassuring.

The Browns need a player who, under Monken, can improve the franchise’s state. And who better than Simpson, who is a “program changer,” or Beck?

Simpson ended the 2025 collegiate season with 28 TDs for 3,567 yards and five interceptions only. His program went from 17th rank to 9th on the NCAA standings within a year. He is predicted as the Browns’ No.6 pick.

Beck, on the other hand, threw 30 passing TDs and 12 interceptions for 3,813 passing yards.

The Browns, an infamous graveyard of quarterbacks, had drafted Sanders and Dillon Gabriel only last year and still have not found a long-term franchise QB.

Fans are disappointed but also calling out the X post for writing the wrong coach’s name.

Browns Fans Are Calling Out Dov Klieman for Factual Inaccuracy

Many fans left comments under the X post to express their dejection with their franchise. One commented that the incoming players don’t have big shoes to fill.

“Hope so. The bar isn't that high. Do we believe you can play better than Watson and Sheduer? Yes? Welcome aboard,” they wrote.

Another said that the franchise would repeat the cycle in 2027, too, and joked that this is an easy way to make cash.

“This is free money How do I bet on the browns drafting a QB with their first round next year too?”

But another commented that no player finds success in the Browns and called out the post for writing Hafley instead of Monken.

“This might be the most r****** post ive ever seen lol. First off, nobody thrives in Cleveland and definitely not under Jeff hafley, because hes not even in Cleveland lol.”

Two others followed suit.

“Jeff Hafley doesn’t coach the Browns Dov,” a reply said.

“What does Jeff Hafley have to do with Cleveland?” one X user asked.

The Browns’ unstable quarterback roster has frustrated fans for years. Whether the upcoming season will be any different is unknown.
