The Cleveland Browns’ defensive tackle, Maliek Collins, has been having quite an offseason, taking his relationship to the next level. The 31-year-old is entering into the later stages of his career and is making his way back to the Browns’ camp after a season-ending quad injury. 

On the personal front, Collins made a personal announcement a week ago that left the Browns' fans overjoyed. He announced his engagement to Amanda Nicole, sparking reactions from fans and the Cleveland Browns. 

“Big congrats to our guy Maliek and his fiancé on their engagement,” posted the Cleveland Browns on their X account. 

Collins signed with the Browns in 2025 during the offseason. The contract was valued at $20 million for two years. 

Per Mike Battaglino of the Browns Nation, Collins was worth the contract because he proved to be a necessary pass-end complement to defensive end Myles Garrett. He was also the veteran mentor for the Browns’ younger linemen. 

During his 2025 season with the Browns, he recorded his career-high 6.5 sacks in 12 games.

Collins has had a decade-long journey in the NFL and was first drafted in the third round by the Dallas Cowboys in 2016. Before Cleveland, he was with the Las Vegas Raiders, the Houston Texans, and the San Francisco 49ers. 

Due to his injury, Collins wasn’t active for the entire season in 2025. This led to him appearing in under 15 games in an NFL season for the first time since 2020. However, Browns’ insider, Mary Kay Cabot, gave a promising update in April on his return for the 2026 season. 

The Browns are counting on Collins to be back soon and in his 2025 form, as much as possible. 

While he still figures out his professional journey, his engagement has certainly made fans happy. Collins’ fans took to social media to congratulate the couple.

Fans of the Browns’ defensive tackle flocked to social media to congratulate the couple. They showered their love by commenting under Collins’ Instagram post and the Browns’ post on X.

A majority of the fans commented "Congratulations" under the post.

Celebrating the event, many fans spoke about an upcoming wedding date for the player.

“Congrats! Let’s get that tux right,” a fan commented.

Some congratulated not just Collins but rather the couple itself on their engagement.

“Beautiful proposal! Congrats you two!” another fan commented.

Some believed that this moment could mean another great season for the 31-year-old.

“Congrats to them! I hope he has another good season,” wrote another fan on the Browns’ X post.

One fan light-heartedly made fun of the player being on one knee for the moment as Collins prepares for his comeback to the Browns camp for the 2026 season. 

“Quad must be strong if he could’ve got on one knee,” commented an observant fan.

Collins suffered a season-ending injury in 2025 but is back to business, as reported by Cabot. Another fan gushed over Collins’ fiancée, Amanda Nicole.

“She’s beautiful!” the user said.

Another user appreciated Collins’ thoughtfulness in his proposal and expressed excitement to see him back on the field. 

“What a sweetie, he put together a special moment for them. Can’t wait to see him on the field again,” commented a fan.

Collins has played 148 games so far in the NFL. His fans hope that Collins can extend his NFL career as long as he can, starting with the 2026 season with the Browns.
