Browns fans ditch Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson after training camp stats

Just three days into training camp, the Cleveland Browns fanbase already appears to be done with Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson. Although both quarterbacks have shown flashes of promise, their lack of production has left fans frustrated.

According to ESPN Cleveland's practice tracker shared by Adam Schefter on Instagram, Deshaun Watson handled all the first-team reps, completing 18 of 27 passes with one interception.

Meanwhile, Shedeur Sanders outperformed him with a much cleaner showing, completing 21 of 26 passes without an interception.

Dillon Gabriel also saw action on Day 3, completing 11 of 17 passes with one touchdown and one interception. Rookie Taylen Green, meanwhile, completed four of his five attempts.

While the tracker shared by ESPN insider Adam Schefter showcases that Sanders is performing well, what really concerns the team is that none of the frontline QBs, apart from Dillon Gabriel, have thrown a touchdown.

What's quite worrying is the fact that Dillon Gabriel appears to be outperforming both Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson despite having limited reps, and even Taylen Green has shown some promise.

Head coach Todd Monken said every quarterback will have a chance to prove himself, but emphasized that not everyone will receive the same number of reps.

"We anticipate alternating. First of all, four quarterbacks are going to compete, but they won't all get equal reps. We'll alternate just like we did in the spring with Deshaun and Shedeur with the ones,” said Monken, per the Mirror.

Although training camp appears to be favoring Sanders for the starting QB role, the fanbase isn't willing to settle for less.

Browns fans rip Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson after Day 3

While the numbers on the Day 3 training camp tracker looked encouraging, comments under Schefter's Instagram post revealed that fans had a different takeaway.

One fan was blunt in their criticism, calling out Shedeur Sanders for failing to throw a touchdown.

“How do u go 21-26 and not throw a touchdown,” said a fan.

Another Browns fan pointed out that while the battle is between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel quietly put together a solid performance.

“Is it me or did Dillon Gabriel do better last season and camp again?” they wrote.

One of the fans laughed at the team for having only one touchdown so far in the training camp.

“They had 1 TD as a team?” the Instagram user quipped.

One of the fans has already disregarded every other quarterback except rookie Taylen Green.

“Dang, 80% completion percentage? This green guy might be it,” said the fan.

Meanwhile, a Baker Mayfield supporter called out the Browns franchise as a whole, believing that it was a mistake to trade Mayfield back in 2022.

“Imagine you guys were competent and kept Baker,” said a fan.

The fanbase appears unhappy with the development, but are they expecting too much? What do you think?
