Browns Fans Accused of Letting QB Controversy Overshadow a Promising Team

The Cleveland Browns have plenty of questions surrounding their quarterback room. Unfortunately, those questions may be affecting how fans view the team as a whole.

Deshaun Watson has been named the team's QB1. Shedeur Sanders, meanwhile, has found himself on the outside looking in. That decision has created plenty of debate among Browns fans.

However, Nick Wilson believes the controversy has gone too far. The 92.3 The Fan host feels some fans are allowing their feelings about the quarterbacks to overshadow everything else Cleveland has to offer.

"It's either Deshaun and/or Shedeur. The dislike from Browns fans for one, both, or either quarterback has impacted their feelings about how much they like this Browns team, which kills, because if we just separate the quarterback position over here, I think there's tons to like with the actual Browns team themselves."

And that could be a major problem for Cleveland heading into the season.

There is plenty of talent across the Browns roster. Yet, the quarterback situation continues to dominate the conversation. For some fans, it appears to have become difficult to separate the two.

Browns to keep Deshaun Watson on a short leash

Watson may have been named QB1, but his position is far from secure. The veteran will have a limited window to prove he deserves to remain the starter.

If he struggles, Cleveland has another intriguing option waiting behind him. Shedeur Sanders could then be asked to step up and take control of the offense.

For now, Watson gets the opportunity. But the pressure will be immense from the very beginning. It will be interesting to see if the 30-year-old can handle it.
