Browns Expected to move on from Myles Garrett as $160M DE's Trade Price Revealed
A Bleacher Report analyst has proposed a blockbuster trade involving Myles Garrett. The proposal outlines what it would cost a Super Bowl contender to acquire the star defensive end from the Cleveland Browns.
Gary Davenport proposed that the Cleveland Browns could make a major trade, sending Myles Garrett to the New England Patriots in exchange for the No. 31 first-round pick and No. 95 third-round pick in 2026, plus a 2027 first-round pick.
"With nearly $44 million in cap space, the Patriots also have the financial resources to absorb Garrett's contract. Making this sort of blockbuster would mean the Patriots are pushing all their chips into the center of the table. Garrett would make an already stout New England defense that much more formidable."
Garrett signed a 4-year, $160,000,000 contract extension with the Cleveland Browns. He has an average annual salary of $40,000,000. This deal made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history at the time.
Garrett is guaranteed about $62 million over the next two seasons. So the Patriots would be responsible for roughly $30–31 million per year for those seasons. New England has the cap space of around $57 million, so it can afford him.
He recorded 23 sacks in the 2025 season, the most in a single season in league history. He also became one of the fastest players to reach 100 career sacks and the first player to record 14 or more sacks in 4 consecutive seasons.
The Browns' defensive end has won the Defensive Player of the Year award twice in his NFL career. And the New England Patriots are not the only team that the NFL analyst proposed a trade with.
NFL Analyst Predicted Myles Garrett's Move
The Seattle Seahawks just won the Super Bowl about a month ago. Their defense played a very big role, and if they want the defense to make sure the trophy stays, bringing Myles Garrett into it won't be a bad option. Gary Davenport wrote:
"The Seahawks have nearly $58.1 million in cap space (sixth-most in the NFL), so they have the cabbage to absorb Garrett's salary. They'll be picking at the end of Round 1 in 2026 and likely wouldn't be picking much higher in 2027 after bringing Garrett in."
"Making this trade would make Seattle's 'Dark Side' defense so scary that even Darth Vader would be sweating under his helmet," added Davenport.
As per his proposal, the Browns would get 026 1st-round pick (No. 32), 2027 1st-round pick, and 2027 3rd-round pick for Myles Garrett. What do you think about it?
