Browns Defensive Star Sets Goals Straight for 2030 Winter Olympics
Myles Garrett is having the time of his life in the 2026 Winter Olympics, supporting his girlfriend, Chloe Kim. By the time the 2030 edition hits, we might have another Cleveland Browns star there. At least hypothetically.
"I've never played hockey in my life, but if I was playing since I was little, I think that's what I would say," Carson Schwesinger said in a recent interview when asked what winter sport he would meddle in.
And the best part? Schwesinger wouldn't let go of his defense excellence there as well. "I like to score, but you know, I don't think I could resist sometimes wrecking some people on the ice," he added.
The interviewer then told Schwesinger that he has 4 years to make it to the 2030 Winter Olympics. "Yeah. All right, I'll get on the ice. There's plenty of it in Cleveland," the Defensive Rookie of the Year replied. Of course, he was only joking because he is set for a great NFL career right now.
The Cleveland Browns star has had 67 solo tackles, 89 assists, 2.5 sacks, and 2 interceptions in 2025. He won the DROY award and led all NFL rookies in solo tackles as well. But even if Schwensinger went to the 2030 Olympics, he wouldn't be the first NFL player to do it.
Herschel Walker was a Heisman Trophy winner and played in the NFL for 12 seasons with 4 teams, including the Cowboys and Eagles. After retirement, he competed in bobsled at the 1992 Winter Olympics. He and his sled partner Brian Shimer finished seventh in the two-man bobsled.
Though the Cleveland Browns Have Only Had Two Olympians on Their Team
And they were Michael Bates and Milt Campbell. The former won the Bronze medal at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona in the 200-meter dash. Then the Seattle Seahawks drafted him in 1992. The 5x Pro Bowler was waived in 1995 and claimed by the Carolina Panthers.
But and immediately traded to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for linebacker Travis Hill. He spent the season there and then went back Panthers (1996-2000) and Washington Redskins (2001).
Milt Campbell won a silver medal in the decathlon at the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki and then a gold medal in the decathlon at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. After his Olympic success, he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 1957 and played one season in the NFL.
