Browns considering Shedeur Sanders trade move?

The Cleveland Browns have a crowded quarterback room, with Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel among the young options competing for a future in Cleveland, as Deshaun Watson continues to start.

Browns media members Daryl Ruiter, Nick Pedone, and Lance Reisland discussed the situation on 92.3 The Fan. Ruiter then offered a strong prediction about how Cleveland’s quarterback situation could unfold once Gabriel returns from injured reserve:

“Here's what's gonna happen. Shedeur Sanders is getting traded. The Cleveland Browns are going to trade Shedeur Sanders somewhere where he can go play, to a team that needs a quarterback that can step in and play. That's how I think this ends. That's the only thing [that makes sense].”

Ruiter also explained why he believes Gabriel was less likely to leave Cleveland. He pointed to the Browns’ high opinion of both quarterbacks, suggesting the team values Gabriel at least as highly as Sanders.

“They're not going to trade Dillon Gabriel, okay? And regardless of how high of an opinion they have of Shedeur, they have just as high, if not more, of a high opinion of Dillon Gabriel.”

If Ruiter’s prediction proves correct, Cleveland could soon have to find a new home for Sanders.

Browns face difficult quarterback decision

Once Dillon Gabriel is healthy, Cleveland will have to determine how to handle its crowded quarterback room. Daryl Ruiter believes Shedeur Sanders is the most logical player to move.

The Browns may not have the luxury of carrying four quarterbacks. Moving Sanders could give him an opportunity elsewhere while allowing Cleveland to retain Gabriel and create more roster flexibility.
