Browns Analyst Calls Our Jarvis Landry For Brutal Kevin Stefanski Comments

Mar 24, 2026, 11:30 AM CUT

Jarvis Landry, the former Cleveland Browns wide receiver, recently made some explosive admissions about Kevin Stefanski, the former head coach, and his time with the franchise. His comments caught a lot of attention, but now, a Browns expert is questioning their validity.

On Monday, Jay Crawford, a former ESPN analyst, sat down for the latest episode of the Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show and addressed Landry’s comments. He questioned that while there could be truth to the former player’s statement, how could Stefanski get away with his decisions without anybody finding out?

“I'm not going to say that Jarvis isn't telling the complete truth. But I don't think he said that with his chest.”

But did Landry say exactly? In the recent episode of his podcast, 4th and South with Leonard Fournette, the duo criticized Stefanski. He claimed that the connection between the HC and the players had fizzled out right after the team's playoff appearance.

And that's not all. Landry was also convinced that Stefanski gave up playcalling duties way before it was let on in the media. It also might be interesting to note that Landry's last season with the Browns was 2021.

“I know when I was there for 100% fact, when we were struggling as an offense, I know Kevin Stefanski himself gave up playcalling to AVP,” Jarvis stated.

In several instances, this episode shared the accusatory undercurrent that the media had for Stefanski last season.

And Fournette Took It up a Notch With His Statement

Fournette, the former Buffalo Bills running back, opined that Stefanski is not a good coach and that his only achievements are the two Coach of the Year awards. The 31-year-old was far harsher with his words for Stefanski, which is why Crawford cited the interaction as “mudslinging” against the former Browns HC.

“And how in the world could that have possibly happened, and no one in the media ever found out. To me, Jarvis is, there’s mudslinging going on at Kevin. The reason I say that is because it seemed to be the tenet of Fournette, too. That ‘this guy can’t coach,’” he added.

Yes, the Browns ended their last two seasons with a 4-12 and 5-12 record, but Fournette most certainly looked past other major factors that resulted in the score. Stefanski had to make do with an injury-riddled roster and the most frustrating quarterback shuffles in the NFL’s recent history.

And in 2025, many players, including veteran guard Joel Bitonio, acknowledged they were equally at fault for the poor results.

So were Fournette and Landry's statements biased and skewed? Crawford thinks so. But what are your thoughts on the matter? Share them in the comments.
