Broncos’ HC Sean Payton Mocks Patriots with Sly Dig Ahead of Championship Finals

The Patriots have the chance to avenge their 2016 AFC Championship loss this Sunday, but the Broncos' HC says otherwise

In a press conference, a reporter asked the Broncos' head coach about his message to the fans before facing the Patriots on Sunday. Payton has been doing this for every game this season, and this time he said:

“They’re going to have plenty of rest after this one,” he paused for a second and then added, "Two weeks.”

Payton has been asking the fans to cheer loudly for the Broncos. Indireclty he said that Bronocs will defeat the Patriots.

Well, his words can be true because New England has a 1-4 win-loss record against the Broncos in the postseason. The team has been so dominant in their home ground that the GOAT, Tom Brady, never won a game against them in Denver during the playoffs.

But that being said, the Patriots are not scared. A reporter asked their wide receiver, Kayshon Boutte, about Sean Payton's comments. "They can rest in Cancun too at the end of the day," Boutte replied.

Moreover, the Bronocs are coming with a QB some Patriots don't even know.

Patriots DT Downplays Sean Payton-backed QB

Since the Bronocs' primary QB, Bo Nix, has broken his ankle, backup Jarrett Stidham will be stepping in. Now Payton has backed him, saying he has a backup," that’s capable of starting for a handful of — a number of teams". Though Patriots DT Milton Williams doesn't even know him.

"Nothing. Nothing. I ain't gon’ lie, nothing. We're gonna watch the tape on him and figure out what he like to do. But, they didn't like him over the Bo [Nix], so," he said when reporters asked him about Jarrett Stidham.

Stidham has not thrown a ball in the last 2 seasons, and he only had 4 starts. In total, he has thrown for 1,422 yards and 8 touchdowns in his career. This can be a gamble on Sean Payton's end because either he can surprise the team or fail miserably. What do you think?
