Brandon Aiyuk is back in the spotlight after his Instagram story. This time, the 49ers star appeared to fire a shot at Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels.

“(Daniels) gonna text me talking about some, ‘You're on my team now. You follow my rules.' Boy, I'm a grown-a** man, boy. You gonna have to start running behind your momma, and I might believe what you're talking about. But until then [no],” said Aiyuk on his Instagram handle, posted on X by Dov Kleiman.

Aiyuk appears to have ignited tensions with Jayden Daniels after a Fourth of July fan interaction went viral. Daniels laughed while a fan shouted, "F*** Brandon Aiyuk."

As per SI, the 49ers receiver might have felt the quarterback should have defended him.

Moments after Aiyuk’s fiery rant, Daniels fired back on his Instagram handle, posting a photo of Kevin Durant flashing two thumbs down. That’s not all, per SI's Grant Cohn. Daniels, in another Instagram story, tagged Aiyuk, writing, "Enjoy retirement, pal."

This back-and-forth carries extra weight because Aiyuk and Daniels have been best friends since their days together at Arizona State.

Part of the reason Aiyuk wanted to leave the 49ers was his desire to reunite with his close friend in Washington.

For now, the beef between the friends has taken a new turn, as Aiyuk unfollowed Daniels on Instagram following the Fourth of July incident.

Analysts believe his attitude, particularly his social media gimmicks, has made him an undesirable target for other teams, posing a serious threat to his NFL career.

Weighing in on the growing drama, former Cowboys WR Dez Bryant backed Brandon Aiyuk's frustration with the 49ers but cautioned the star receiver against letting his emotions get the better of him.

“Some athletes go through things that most fans couldn’t even imagine..so I get Brandon Aiyuk’s frustrations regarding his situation with the 49ers. With that being said, he’s going to highly regret going about his situation the way he has been. I pray he gets whatever he’s going through figured out,” Bryant wrote on his X handle.

As time passes, the situation looks increasingly grim for Brandon Aiyuk's chances of playing this season.

The 49ers appear unlikely to give him a starting opportunity, and even if they trade him, other teams could demand a significant pay cut because of concerns over his recent behaviour.

Speaking of Commanders, SI’s Grant Cohn cautioned the team, saying that the trade can prove to be a bit risky for them.

“If Aiyuk is taking shots at Daniels before Aiyuk is even on the Commanders, imagine how Aiyuk will act if he ever signs with Washington. He might be even more disruptive than he is now,” wrote Cohn.
