Bills Jump the Line for Grant Udinski Amidst Strong Interest from Browns
The Buffalo Bills are targeting key offensive reinforcements, potentially at the expense of the Cleveland Browns.
On January 17th, the Browns virtually interviewed the Jaguars OC Grant Udinski, which went for around three hours. He is scheduled for a second interview on Friday.
However, the problem is that the Browns haven’t completed the Rooney Rule requirements to hire him. The rule mandates teams to interview diverse candidates for the head coach position.

Even if they wanted to, Cleveland couldn’t hire him because they haven’t fulfilled the Rooney Rule requirements.

That’s where the Bills come in. According to reports, they have requested an interview with Udinski. The prospect of coaching an MVP-level QB in Josh Allen could certainly be a deciding factor.
For the Bills, Udinski could be a game-changer. Under Udinski, the Jaguars went head-to-head with teams like the Texans, the Chiefs, and the Broncos, winning their games in dominant fashion.
He transformed the Jaguars' offense, with the team becoming the 6th-best offense in the league with 27.9 points per game. He also had 222.3 passing yards per game, a slight jump from the 216.6 yards per game for the Bills.
Grant Udinski Could Be on the Verge of Creating History
If Grant Udinski joins either the Cleveland Browns or the Buffalo Bills, he will be the youngest head coach in NFL history. At just 30 years and 10 days, the Jaguars’ OC will overtake the Rams’ head coach, Sean McVay. He was 30 years 11 months at the time of hiring.
Despite having less experience, the Jaguars’ HC Liam Coen praised him in the press conference. “He’s an elite communicator. Grant is all ball, no ego… wants to live as close to the building as he can.”
Grant led the high-flying offense of Jacksonville, leading them to the AFC South title.
If the Bills do end up hiring him, will he lead Josh Allen to his very first Super Bowl? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
