Bijan Robinson Gets Honest Over Kevin Stefanski After the HC’s Poor Run With Browns
Things are finally looking up for Kevin Stefanski with his new team. The Atlanta Falcons have accepted him with open arms. And running back Bijan Robinson is fired up to work with him.
In a candid mic’d up moment during the 2026 Pro Bowl, Robinson was asked if the franchise had a new head coach yet. To which he replied: “Yeah, it’s Kevin Stefanski. He fire bro.”
“I like him a lot and his offensive scheme. And Tommy Rees, he’s the OC, but he’ll call plays,” Robinson shared.
After two consecutive tumultuous seasons with the Cleveland Browns and being hounded by the media, these comments about Stefanski are refreshing.
Stefanski had an unceremonious but predictable exit after the Browns yielded a 3-14 record in 2024 and followed up with 5-14 this year.
He was criticized for mismanagement, poor play calls, and, most importantly, not maximizing the potential of his quarterback. It doesn’t help that Stefanski was caught up in one of the worst quarterback rotations in recent history.
The Browns skipped from rookie Dillon Gabriel to Shedeur Sanders after trading veterans Joe Flacco and Baker Mayfield.
They had deeply problematic seasons in terms of offense, which is Stefanski’s strong suit. The franchise ranked in the bottom half, 30th in total yards (4,456 yards) and 31st in points (279).
And the reasons for this ranged from poor trades and underwhelming offensive players, something he couldn’t control.
Yet, He Landed a Job With the Falcons Thanks to His Previous Successful Years
With Stefanski at the helm for the past six years, the Browns clinched two playoff berths in 2020 and 2023. And was awarded AP Coach of the Year in those years.
Stefanski proved his capabilities with the Browns, one of the most dysfunctional teams in the NFL, and his collaborative approach to coaching. He shared play-calling duties with offensive coordinator Tommy Rees ahead of Week 10, before completely giving them up to him.
Rees has followed Stefanski into the Falcons, and fans are hoping they repeat their initial magic as seen with running backs Nick Chubb, Jerome Ford, and even Quinshon Judkins.
Chubb, in 2022, gave his career-best performance of 1,525 rushing yards. He had the second-best yards per carry stats (always above 5.0). Ford recorded 813 rushing yards, and Judkins followed with 827 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.
Robinson has praised Stefanski, while the Browns continue to struggle. Are you excited to see how Stefanksi fares here? Tell us your thoughts below.
