Bernie Kosar Provides Latest Health Update After Recent Scare Has Him Hospitalized

Six weeks after undergoing a liver transplant in November, Bernie Kosar was readmitted after his body showed signs of rejection. Addressing concerns on X last Wednesday, he said, “My body is having a small rejection right now of the liver.”
Days later, Kosar followed up with further health updates, offering cautious reassurance.
Bernie Kosar Gives His Health Updates
“Hope you're having a positive, winning day. Gotta get myself healthy to get discharged here from the hospital to see my man Paul Sidoti. He's gonna be at the House of Blues this Saturday, January 17th, doing some of the Eagles remake band that he did back at the Bernie Kosar charity back in the day,” he updated about his health on his X handle.
He further added, “And then to get down to Miami on Monday to see our Hurricanes in the national championship. You matter. Have a positive, great winning week.”
This marks the fourth time the BRowns legend is readmitted to the University Hospitals since undergoing a liver transplant on November 17. His most recent admission came on December 10, when he was hospitalized for E. coli-related sepsis.
After receiving treatment, he was discharged shortly thereafter. While the situation remains challenging for the former quarterback, he is focused on maintaining his composure.
His earlier comments centered on his recovery from surgery
Kosar expressed that the doctors wanted him to be calm after his surgery, "One of the things is they are trying to calm me down, stay quiet, because it really is the first 90 days. "
"With infections and meeting people and getting too confident in your health and wellness, you have to be careful,” Kosar said previously.
With recovery on track, what lies next for him remains to be seen.
