Ben Roethlisberger Points Finger At Lamar Jackson’s Form In Bold Super Bowl Take

Many analysts view the Baltimore Ravens as a legitimate Super Bowl contender with former NFL MVP Lamar Jackson still leading the offense and a star-packed roster. However, not everyone believes in the Ravens. A major part of the doubt revolves around Jackson's form.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger gave his assessment of the Ravens on the Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger podcast. He argued that the Ravens are heading in the wrong direction.

“I think they’re falling apart. I really don’t think they’re the same team,” Roethlisberger said on the June 10 episode of the podcast. “These feel different. They feel like their window closed.”

The former Steelers player also pointed fingers at Jackson's performance last year.

“(Derrick) Henry’s a year older, his body’s taken a beating,” said Roethlisberger. “What was going on with Lamar (Jackson) last year? He just didn’t seem like the Lamar we’ve been used to seeing.”

Jackson struggled last season with accuracy and consistency, and his overall explosiveness dipped. He went 6-7 as a starter in his first losing season, averaging 196.1 passing yards per game and throwing 21 touchdowns, his fewest since 2022.

However, a major cause behind his performance dip was that he faced a series of injuries, such as a hamstring concern, a toe injury, and a back problem.

Considering how the Ravens were close to reaching the Super Bowl game in 2024, they were expected to contend again. Unfortunately, they underperformed massively and missed the playoffs after a 26-24 loss to the Steelers in Week 18.

However, one analyst has called the Ravens one of the best teams in the NFL.

Analyst Expects Ravens To Easily Make The Playoffs

ESPN's senior writer and data analyst Mike Clay, on 10 June, updated his projections for the 2026 season.

According to Clay, the Ravens are projected to have a win total of 11.5. If this were to happen, the Ravens would easily make the playoffs. He also projected Jackson to have a much better season.

According to Clay's projections, Jackson would throw for 3885 yards and rush for 670 yards and have a combined 30 touchdowns with 10 interceptions.

This would be far better than Jackson's output last season of 2,549 passing yards and 349 rushing yards, and seven interceptions.

It will be interesting to see how Jackson can perform in 2026, provided he stays healthy.

Do you think the Ravens and Jackson can prove Roethlisberger wrong? Let us know in the comments.
