“Baker is the Epitome of Trashy”: ESPN Expert Gives Blunt Take on Baker Mayfield vs Kevin Stefanski Feud

Kevin Stefanski and Baker Mayfield’s messy feud is making headlines once again, courtesy of Mayfield's recent tweet.

In a segment of Trendy or Trashy, ESPN’s Arnold Goldhammer called out Mayfield for his recent comments against his former Browns head coach.

“Baker is the epitome of trashy,” Goldhammer noted to Betsy P., when the topic in discussion was whether airing one's dirty laundry online is 'Trendy' or 'Trashy.'

Goldhammer was just another expert on the panel, seemingly tired of the quarterback, and asked why everybody was still in Mayfield’s head.

In a turn of events, the nemeses find themselves in a face-off after Stefanski was made the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. Mayfield, who joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in March 2023, is the NFC rival of the Falcons.

This discussion started with a post from Falcons’ reporter, D. Orlando Ledbetter

In an X post, Ledbetter accused Stefanski, the franchise’s new head coach, of wasting away three Browns' quarterbacks. He named Mayfield one of them.

“Falcons’ Kevin Stefanski had a dumpster fire at quarterback in Cleveland- Baker Mayfield and Deshaun Watson failed, which started a chain reaction to 11 other starters. QB Shedeur Sanders closed out last season with seven starts.”

In his time as the Browns’ quarterback, Mayfield fell victim to their unstable management. By the time Stefanski took the reins in 2020, Mayfield, who was the 2018 No. 1 draft pick, had already witnessed two other head coaches and Freddie Kitchens’ disastrous season.

The two shared a strained relationship, which reached a point of no return in 2021. Mayfield publicly called out his coach for making poor calls during the Week 18 game against the Steelers, which resulted in him getting sacked nine times.

Mayfield later requested a trade and seems to still hold a grudge against Stefanski. In his reply to Ledbetter’s X post, the Buccaneers’ quarterback stated Stefanski was abysmal and that he is still expecting a word from him.

“Failed is quite the reach, pal,” Mayfield wrote. “Still waiting on a text/call from him after I got shipped off like a piece of garbage. Can’t wait to see you twice a year, Coach.”

Other than the experts, Joe Thomas, a former Browns’ offensive lineman, has also called out Mayfield. In an X post, Thomas wrote that Mayfield is equally at fault and should initiate a conversation.

“I could be wrong...but I've heard that communication is a 2-way street and there were no laws against you (Baker) sending Stefanski a text or calling him after you got traded.”

With the foes now set to meet twice on the field, the Buccaneers vs Falcons matchups have gotten more interesting than ever. The question is, will these two, especially Mayfield, remain composed and professional?
