Bad Bunny Sends Strong Message to America Through Super Bowl Halftime Show
Bad Bunny certainly didn’t disappoint with his Super Bowl halftime show. Turning up in an all-white, football jersey-inspired outfit with ‘Ocasio’ printed on the back, the artist made good on Roger Goodell’s promise.
At the end of the half-time show, Bad Bunny held up a football, which read, “Together, We Are America.” During his performance, the global sensation embraced nations from across North and South America.
He brought out all of their flags in an incredible moment, putting an end to the controversy surrounding his appearance ahead of the Super Bowl. And addressing this, the NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, had praised him in a press conference.
"Bad Bunny is, and I think that was demonstrated last night, one of the great artists in the world, and that’s one of the reasons we chose him... This platform is used to unite people and to be able to bring people together with their creativity … I think Bad Bunny understands that and I think he'll have a great performance."
Bad Bunny's performance perfectly encapsulated that. In one moment, the artist said, "God Bless America," as letters of all countries flashed on the billboard behind. Dancers ran out beside him, holding flags of North and South American flags, with the United States leading the group out.
What Else Happened During Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show?
Bad Bunny’s halftime performance included many of his hit songs, starting with “Tití Me Preguntó”.
The 31-year-old followed up with another popular track, 'CAFé CON RON,' and finished with 'DtMF.' During the performance, he delivered an emotional tribute to his journey, handing a Grammy trophy to a child on the stage.
There was also a surprise appearance from Lady Gaga, who performed alongside Ricky Martin, who delivered an incredible performance.
Bad Bunny’s half-time show will go down in history, as he became the first-ever Spanish-speaking solo headline performer.
