As soon as the Cleveland Browns traded down and picked KC Concepcion with their No.24 slot, the live coverage immediately highlighted his drop rate. But Browns general manager Andrew Berry has a different outlook on the scenario. 

92.3 The Fan posted a clip of Berry addressing the media. He admitted that Concepcion’s drop rate (10.3% to 11.7%) from the 2025 season is not a cause for concern to him.

Instead, Berry praised Concepcion’s performance and revealed details of their pre-draft interactions. 

“Every receiver besides maybe Larry Fitzgerald has a couple drops. And, KC, he's been a dynamic producer at NC State, Texas A&M…we’re looking forward to having him,” he told reporters.“I told him when he was on his 30th visit, I think it's incredible what he's overcome and gone through in his life. I really loved the person.”

Concepcion is a dynamic player on the field, and as the GM pointed out, has also overcome personal battles in life.

Concepcion has dealt with a speech impediment for years (like his father, Kevin Concepcion Sr.) Later, the prospect revealed that he wanted to set an example and become a “role model for those who are not able to speak in front of large crowds.”

The 21-year-old wide receiver’s college career was split across two programs in three years. He first played for the NC State Wolfpack between 2023 and 2024 before ending with the Texas A&M Aggies in 2025. 

In these seasons, he made 185 receptions for 2,218 yards and scored 25 receiving touchdowns. Concepcion also amassed 3 TDs and 431 rushing yards from 70 carries.

He is an addition to the Browns, who need a change in their wide receivers’ room, as the Browns ranked #29 in wide receiver performance in 2025 per ESPN.

KC Concepcion Expresses His Thoughts On The Draft

In a call with the media after his draft, Concepcion told the Browns, “I’m versatile. I make plays. I can play anywhere. I can run any route... Whatever I give you, you guys are going to be getting a dawg all over the field."

Concepcion’s presence has ticked off one of their priorities. Jeudy, who was the leader, gained only 106 yards from 50 receptions. He was targeted 106 times and scored just two TDs. 

Cedric Tillman was targeted 39 times and made 21 receptions and scored two touchdowns for 270 yards. Isaiah Bond did not score a single TD, and neither did Malachi Corley.

Meanwhile, Concepcion is a 2025 Consensus All-American. He is also known for fostering a strong bond with his teammates by hosting cookouts. And he certainly left an impression on Berry.
