Andrew Berry Makes Thoughts Clear On Browns' 4-QB Room
Cleveland Browns GM Andrew Berry confirmed the team will carry four quarterbacks following the 2026 NFL Draft. The addition of Arkansas standout Taylen Green creates a crowded room alongside Deshaun Watson, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders. This setup signals an open competition for the starting role this fall.
On 25 April, Berry addressed the press, who focused on Green's standout athleticism. “The current plan is that we would roll with those four,” he said. “I can’t predict if something else comes up. So yes, that would be the intention.”
The Browns utilized the 182nd pick in the sixth round to bring in the Arkansas Razorbacks player, who has the potential to be the catalyst for an improved offense in 2026.

The 23-year-old put forth a record-breaking performance at the NFL Combine. He completed the 40-yard dash in 4.36 seconds. Green surpassed Anthony Richardson’s 2023 record with his 43.5-inch vertical and an 11-foot-2 broad jump.
Green is also a dual-threat quarterback. In his five-year college career, Green scored 59 passing TDs for 9,662 passing yards. He also gained 2,403 rushing yards with 35 rushing TDs.
Berry further appreciated Green. “He has rare physical gifts. He has size, he has elite speed, he has a big arm,” said Berry. “He's gonna need some polish with his game, but he has the work ethic and the acumen. We're looking forward to adding him to the roster and adding him to the mix in terms of competition.”
While Berry wants the best to come of the QB1 competition, Shedeur Sanders, who ended the 2025 season as the starter, has a different opinion.
What Does The Browns’ QB Roster Look Like?
In a conversation with the press after practice in Berea (Ohio), Sanders shared his perspective on the QB competition.
“I think I don't try to compare anything,” Sanders said. “I don't try to live in no comparison world. So respectfully, I just don't want to talk about last year or anything, because it doesn't help us move forward.”
Sanders, 24, took over as the starter from Week 11 after Dillon Gabriel sustained a season-ending concussion. His rookie year performance of 7 TDs, 10 INTs for 1,400 yards did not campaign for his future as the starter.
Moreover, 30-year-old Deshaun Watson, who would be returning to the field for the first time since October 2024, is also vying for the starting position. Meanwhile, he has not made any statement, and neither has Gabriel.
