“A little bit shortsighted” - Browns voice weighs in on Shedeur Sanders' future
The Cleveland Browns could face another quarterback dilemma if Shedeur Sanders considers leaving. His decision to hire an agent has raised questions, but a move elsewhere might not offer the solution he expects.
Speaking on The Ken Carman Show with Anthony Lima on 92.3 The Fan, Carman questioned why Sanders would even hire a new agent if he wanted to remain in Cleveland. He stressed that the Browns were still working toward playoff contention:
“We're not out of the woods when we're talking about competing. We're talking about going to the playoffs. We're not talking about going to the Super Bowl.”
Carman also questioned whether the Miami Dolphins or Tennessee Titans would want Sanders, given their existing quarterback situations. He suggested both teams could already be looking ahead to the upcoming season:
“So, to me, it would possibly be a little bit shortsighted. Who are you gonna get traded to?”
Carman suggested leaving Cleveland could be shortsighted if those teams have little reason to pursue him.
Browns' playoff ambitions remain a work in progress amid quarterback uncertainty
The Cleveland Browns also face uncertainty surrounding Deshaun Watson as the franchise weighs its quarterback plans.
Ken Carman discussed the possibility of using the franchise tag on Watson but doubted Cleveland would take that route. He said the quarterback's contract situation had dragged on, leaving the team with more questions to resolve.
The Browns still need to build a roster capable of reaching the playoffs, and their unsettled quarterback plans add another challenge.
